REMOVE YOUR ILLEGAL STRUCTURES OR FACE DEMOLITION--- Utuamah

Delta State Deputy Governor and Chairman of the adhoc Committee on Environmental
Sanitation ,Prof.Amos Agbe Utuamah has directed traders in
Warri and its environs to remove all illegal structures along major
roads in the State.

Prof.Utuamah gave the directive when the Committee commenced the
cleaning at Enerhen Junction, boundary between Warri south, Uvwie and Udu
Local Government Areas of the State on Monday April 7.
Prof.Utuamah warned that failure of the traders to remove their
illegal structures, the Committee will demolish them.
Commissioner of Information,Mr.Chike Ogeah, said the committee is
mandated by the Delta State Governor,Dr.Emmanuel Uduaghan, to
install the master plan of Warri and other parts of the state.
Speaking with newsmen,Delta State Commissioner for
Environment,Mr.Frank Omare, debunked the claims by traders that
they were not given adequate information to evacuate their illegal
shops adding that the committee will not tolerate any acts of
lawlessness pointing out that about 1,600 environmental marshalls have
been engaged for the exercise. Mr.Omare noted that the Committee will
do what it needs to do without "selective justice".
Illegal Shops/structures were later demolished at Enerhen Junction as
traders were seen moving their wares from being destroyed.
Our Correspondent report that the adhoc Environmental Sanitation
Committee has as its members all the Commissioners in Delta State.
