WARRI SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAPITAL OF DELTA STATE--- Prof. Oyovwaire.

He is an astute Academician and a respected Chief of Okpe Kingdom, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire has
revealed that he and other eminent Deltans fought for Warri to be the
capital of Delta State during the creation of Delta State by the General
Ibrahim Babangida administration.

Prof. Oyovbaire, who was a minister in that regime, made the revelation when the newly elected President of
Ugborhen Community, Chief Anthony Amitaye paid him a courtesy visit at
his country home in Opuraja Community in Sapele Local Government Area
of Delta State.

Prof.Oyovbaire explained that if the move had succeeded, the whole of Okpe
Kingdom and other areas near Warri would have been rapidly developed.

He adviced the newly elected president not give land on"free hold" to anybody
apart from Ugborhen indigenes."Don't play with the Community's
land""don't give free hold to anybody apart from Ugborhen Indigenes".

He also adviced the newly elected Ugborhen President to provide
portable water, electricity, road as well as basic education for
the people of Ugborhen within the next three years of his
administration.

Responding, Chief Amitaye said his visit to Prof. Sam Oyovbaire was to
solicit for the prayers and support of the Chief for
the development of Ugborhen Community.
Chief Amitaye who described the present state of the Community as
"a community in shamble and cut off from the world outside" said the
community's health centre lacks power supply.  He explained that the
Health Centre needed just three electric poles which he had provided
for them to get electricity. He promised that in three days time the health
centre will have light. Chief Amitaye also promised an all round
development and change to the Ugborhen Community.

Present at the brief visit is the newly selected Assistant Secretary
